Reunion Redux

I still remember vividly the day we decided, four friends and I, to organize a reunion in 2007 at Fisher Park High School, one for all years of graduates.  I immediately knew we needed a lot of help and started asking people if they were interested; so many people did and so many people brought enormous amounts of energy to the effort.  It was also a ton of work and worry for those organizing – I also remember that on opening day, we were in a significant financial loss situation.  The 2007 reunion, however went off without a hitch, was marginally profitable, and everyone had a great time.

So what the heck, we thought we would do it again.  The fact of the matter is that the school closed in 1987 and so the number of graduates of the school is not increasing, but dwindling, and if we want to have another well-attended reunion, we had best do it soon while we can all enjoy it to the greatest extent possible.

One of the things I – and many attendees – loved was the beer / band tent in the yard.  I still remember Chris McKool, John Jastremski, and many others taking the stage and playing the tunes of our days at Fisher.  I am looking forward to repeating that experience and hopefully enhancing it.

So, here we go again – and I am looking forward to it.
